Program Overview
The Oklahoma Warriors NAHL and OKC Warriors NA3HL Internship Program is designed to provide hands-on experience in the day-to-day business operations of a junior hockey organization. Interns will work directly with the Director of Operations and game day staff to support retail store operations, ticket sales initiatives, bar operations, and overall game day management throughout the hockey season.
The Oklahoma Warriors NAHL and OKC Warriors NA3HL Internship Program is designed to provide hands-on experience in the day-to-day business operations of a junior hockey organization. Interns will work directly with the Director of Operations and game day staff to support retail store operations, ticket sales initiatives, bar operations, and overall game day management throughout the hockey season.
This internship offers practical exposure to customer service, sales operations, fan engagement, inventory management, and live event execution in a fast-paced sports environment. Interns will gain valuable experience working both behind the scenes and directly with fans during Oklahoma Warriors and OKC Warriors home games and events.
Program Objectives
· Provide practical experience in sports business and game day operations.
· Develop customer service, sales, and operational management skills.
· Expose interns to retail, concession, and ticketing systems within a sports environment.
· Foster professional growth through collaboration with team staff and game day personnel.
· Build leadership and communication skills through live event operations.
Internship Structure & Responsibilities
1. Retail Store Operations & Ticket Sales (Primary Focuses)
Retail Operations
· Merchandise sales and customer service during games and events
· Inventory tracking and organization
· Restocking merchandise displays and maintaining store appearance
· Assisting with merchandise promotions and special sales initiatives
· Processing transactions using point-of-sale systems
· Supporting online order fulfillment when applicable
Ticket Sales
· Assisting with box office operations during home games
· Supporting season ticket and group ticket sales efforts
· Greeting and assisting fans at entry points and ticketing areas
· Managing will-call and ticket distribution processes
· Assisting with promotional events and fan engagement activities
· Supporting in-game experiences and special event activations
2. Bar Operations (*dependent upon age and licensing requirements)
· Assisting with setup and breakdown of bar areas during home games
· Supporting inventory organization and stock management
· Assisting staff with customer service and fan interaction
· Monitoring cleanliness and organization of operational areas
· Learning operational procedures related to concessions and hospitality management
· Assisting with VIP and special event hospitality needs
3. Game Day Operations
· Assisting with arena setup and breakdown
· Supporting staff with operational logistics during games
· Helping coordinate promotions and intermission activities
· Assisting with fan services and customer experience initiatives
· Providing operational support wherever needed throughout events
Learning Outcomes

Skills & Qualifications
· Currently pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Communications, or a related field preferred
· Strong communication and organizational skills
· Customer service mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred
· Positive, dependable, team-oriented, and eager to learn
· Passion for sports and live events preferred
Internship Duration
This internship will span the full hockey season from September through April. Interns will work flexible hours based on the team schedule, including nights, weekends, and home games.
Because game nights provide the majority of hands-on learning opportunities, interns should plan to be present for most of the Oklahoma Warriors and/or OKC Warriors home games and team events throughout the season.

This is an unpaid internship; however, college credit may be earned if applicable through the intern’s academic institution.
