Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sports Media & Journalism Intern to join our communications team. This is an unpaid internship, ideal for students or recent graduates interested in journalism, media writing, and sports communications. The intern will be responsible for producing game recaps, player features, and other written content to highlight Titans players, games, and community involvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  •  Write game recaps, player features, and press releases for the Titans’ website and media outlets.
  •  Assist with managing written content for social media platforms and team publications.
  •  Conduct interviews with players, coaches, and staff to create engaging stories.
  •  Collaborate with the communications team to develop storylines and media campaigns.
  •  Edit and proofread written materials for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  •  Support general media and communications needs before, during, and after home games.

Qualifications:
  •  Strong writing and editing skills with attention to grammar, detail, and accuracy.
  •  Ability to work within deadlines and produce timely content in a fast-paced environment.
  •  Interest in hockey, sports journalism, and communications.
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  •  Experience with WordPress or other content management systems preferred.
  •  Enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Journalism, Communications, English, Sports Management, or a related field.

Job Questions:

  1. I understand this position is based in Middletown, New Jersey. No relocation assistance is provided, and the New Jersey Titans cannot provide work authorization or visa sponsorship for this role. Academic credit may be arranged if needed.

  2. The Titans’ home games are primarily on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights from September through April (with playoffs in May). Interns will work on a rotating schedule and will not be expected to attend every event. Are you available to work on these days as part of a rotation?
