Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking On-Ice Operations Intern to join our game operations team. This is an unpaid internship, ideal for students or recent graduates interested in sports operations, event management, and hands-on experience in live hockey events. The intern will assist with critical on-ice tasks including goal judging, penalty box management, and equipment movement during home games.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a goal judge and assist with confirming scoring plays.
- Operate and manage penalty box doors, ensuring accurate timing of penalties.
- Assist with moving equipment, nets, and other items on and off the ice.
- Support game officials with logistical needs during play stoppages.
- Collaborate with the game operations team to ensure smooth execution of in-game procedures.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment on and around the ice surface.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of hockey rules and gameplay preferred.
- Ability to remain focused and attentive in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working evenings and weekends.
- Physically capable of safely assisting with on-ice equipment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Sports Management, Event Operations, Communications, or a related field.
