Position Responsibilities: The Ice Palace is looking to add an Head Ice Technician to their roster.

Job Summary
The Ice Palace is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Ice Technician to oversee all aspects of ice maintenance and arena operations. This leadership role is responsible for delivering exceptional ice conditions, maintaining equipment, supervising ice staff, and ensuring the facility is safe, clean, and game-ready for hockey, skating programs, and special events.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee all ice maintenance operations, including resurfacing, edging, flooding, and helping with seasonal ice installation/removal.
• Operate and maintain Zamboni machines and other ice maintenance equipment.
• Coordinate with the junior coaches on ice time.
• Train, supervise part-time Zamboni drivers.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on ice resurfacing equipment and related systems.
• Monitor refrigeration and ice conditions to ensure a consistent, high-quality skating surface. (Update Management with temperature/ Ice conditions daily).
• Coordinate rink setup and breakdown for games, practices, tournaments, and special events.
• Maintain clean locker rooms, player benches, penalty boxes, and surrounding arena areas.
• Identify and address maintenance or safety concerns throughout the facility.
• Work closely with arena management to support daily operations and improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and operational procedures.
Qualifications
• Previous experience as an Ice Technician or Zamboni Operator is required.
• Leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in cold conditions.
• Valid driver’s license required.
