Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Broadcast Graphics & Scoreboard Intern to join our broadcast and game presentation team. This is an unpaid internship, ideal for students or recent graduates interested in live sports production, digital media, and event presentation. The intern will be responsible for creating and operating live graphics during broadcasts, managing the scoreboard, and ensuring accurate and engaging visual content for fans in-arena and online.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and operate live broadcast graphics, including score bugs, lineups, statistics overlays, sponsor spots, and out-of-town scores.
- Manage the arena scoreboard and ensure real-time updates of goals, penalties, shots, and other statistics.
- Collaborate with the broadcast team to prepare graphics packages prior to games.
- Coordinate timing of graphics with announcers, producers, and replay operators.
- Assist with pre-game setup, testing, and troubleshooting of graphics and scoreboard systems.
- Contribute creative ideas to enhance the broadcast and in-arena visual experience.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
- Familiarity with broadcast graphics software (such as Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, or sports broadcast systems) preferred.
- Interest in hockey, sports broadcasting, and live event presentation.
- Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working evenings and weekends.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Broadcasting, Digital Media, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field.
