Facility Operations/Event Staff: Security
In order to be considered for this role, after clicking "Apply Now" above and being redirected, you must fully complete the application process on the follow-up screen.

As our Part Time Building Security Officer, YOU:

  • Keep us safe and secure. You will be responsible for performing timely and accurate security/safety patrols throughout campus, securing and un-securing doors as assigned, and keeping leadership informed of unusual events that occur while on duty. You work to ensure that our facility remains safe by monitoring and operating security equipment, including our security cameras and communication systems, as well as our building alarm systems. People feel safe coming to our facility because of your diligence and dedication every day.
  • Get people in... and out, efficiently. We are an event-driven business and bringing people into and out of our facility in a safe manner is at the heart of what you do. You will effectively search bags and personal belongings, complete and record vehicle entries into our loading dock, activate our response protocols, perform dock marshal duties, and manage freight by monitoring deliveries, lifting, pulling and pushing freight (20-50 lbs at times) to move and delivery it when needed. If someone needs in...or out...you’re the one we call.
  • Solve problems as you see them. Our Security Team is focused on working collaboratively to ensure the quickest response time possible. You identify security-related issues and solve them before we even know they’re there. Additionally, you are a point of escalation, responsible for observing and responding to incidents, reporting them to the appropriate management, as well as verbal removal of unwanted guests within the facilities. If there's a problem, we’re calling you to help us solve it!
  • Are a cultural centerpiece. Your interaction with our employees, fans and guests is constant. You welcome people in, help them find their way, and ensure their visit to our campus is safe and memorable. You will respond to requests for assistance from employees and guests, as well as provide personal escorts to/from locations within the campus facilities. People see you as a helpful, supportive resource and a critical part of our team and the Wild’s culture.

 YOU ARE A:

  • Legal Adult. Sorry kids, you’ve got to be 18 or older, with a high school diploma or equivalent to get this gig.
  • Trusted Teammate. Our team runs on relationships. Confidentiality, professionalism, reliability and discretion are at the heart of building strong bonds and being successful in this role. This isn’t a 9 to 5 gig – our building needs to be secure 24-7, so we need to be able to count on you... your fellow Security Team is counting on you... to show up, be diligent and get things done.
  • Servant Leader. At the Wild, everything we do is grounded in serving. You serve our organization, each other, our fans and our community. Leadership is not a rank, it’s not about being in charge; it’s about taking care of those in our charge. You live this mantra out in every interaction you have with your teammates, our employees, our fans, our guests and our community-members.
  • Qualified Security Professional. We’re flexible, but we need someone that understands this gig and what it takes. You should be CPR/AED Certified or willing to become certified within six months of your start date and be able to pass a background check. Additionally, you should have the ability to remain calm and effective in challenging situations, be a self-starter, have strong attention to details (think eagle eyes!) and, ideally, have some experience with monitoring video surveillance. We’ll teach you what you need to know, but you should already have a sense of what “great” looks like.

The Saint Paul Arena Company WILL:

  • Listen To You.  We need your thoughts, ideas, and passion to help make this the best team in sports and entertainment. You talk, we’ll listen.
  • Treat You Like an Adult.  We will trust you to get the work done in a way that makes sense for you. We measure output, impact, and accountability.
  • Support You.  We’ll look to you to help create a greater State of Hockey. We promise you'll be surrounded by supportive people equally committed to the organization. Go Wild!
  • Commit to Diversity Equity & Inclusion.  We strive to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace and seek to employ a workforce that is representative of our entire audience. Our goal is to make hockey available to all who wish to play.

  • Ability and flexibility to work day, evening, overnight hours and Holidays.

  • Lifting Requirements - must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
