In Arena DJ - $350.00 per event/ appearance 

The in Arena DJ plays a key role in shaping the in-arena atmosphere by curating music that energizes players during warm-ups and keeps fans engaged throughout the game. They coordinate closely with the control room to time sound cues, maintain audio quality, and ensure all content is appropriate and properly licensed. This position is vital for enhancing the overall fan experience, building crowd momentum, and contributing to the team's home-ice advantage.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Curate and play music during player warmups, pregame, intermissions, and stoppages to set tone and energy.
  • Use music to help build momentum (e.g. after big plays), energize the crowd, and maintain excitement.
  • Maintain and organize a library of approved songs (licensed music) to ensure a good variety and appropriate content.
  • Apply any content filters (language / lyrical appropriateness) to make sure music is family friendly and fits team / arena policy.
  • Set up, test, and operate sound and audio equipment, whether front of house speakers, mixing consoles, playback devices.
  • Monitor audio quality; adjust volume, levels, equalization as needed for different zones in the arena.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues (equipment malfunctions, sound delays, feedback etc.) under pressure, especially during events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Formal Education & Certification:

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of music genres and how to use music to influence crowd energy and game atmosphere.
  • Familiarity with NHL game flow and timing to coordinate music and sound cues appropriately.
  • Experience operating DJ software and audio equipment (e.g. mixing consoles, playback systems) in live settings.
  • Understanding of music licensing and content standards, ensuring all audio is appropriate and compliant.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues and adapt quickly during fast-paced, live events.
  • Prior experience DJing at live events or sports venues, with the ability to work collaboratively with game presentation teams.

Work Conditions:

  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed for games and events.
  • Ability to work a majority of Minnesota Wild home games.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, lifting, grasping, etc.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
