The Group Sales Manager is responsible for effectively directing a sales team dedicated to generating group sales. Provides leadership for the group sales team towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with department revenue goals. Develops strategic plans to achieve specific group sales goals. Responsible for the growth and development of the sales team members.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Lead and manage the group sales team to reach and exceed daily, weekly, monthly individual and overall ticket revenue goals through sales of group tickets & hospitality.
  • Lead, motivate, inspire and coach the group sales team to achieve individual and team goals. Provide guidance and feedback to individual sales methods.
  • Oversee and support various sales tactics (outbound phone calls, face to face appointments, email, etc.) and reporting of sales results.
  • Collaborate with leadership team to develop and efficiently maintain all group sales campaigns and lead distribution in CRM.
  • Partner with Marketing, Business Intelligence, Ticket Operations and Fan Relations to implement ticket sales strategies based on available inventory. Partner with single game ticket promotions and strategize pricing to optimize ticket revenue to achieve group sales goals.
  • Maximize all group sales categories by executing best practices and implementing new and innovative group theme nights.
  • In addition to the leadership of the group sales team, this role will support all ticket sales & service reps as it pertains to group sales process, goals, and coaching. In collaboration with other sales leadership establish and execute sales training plan.
  • Partner with other ticket sales & service leaders on the oversight of game day duties, including the Sales kiosk.
  • Foster a positive workplace environment and develop an agile sales culture within the department.
  • Lead staff to ensure service level and standards exceed fan expectations.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all departments to help facilitate annual group sales goals.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, if necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is highly recommended, but not required.

Knowledge & Experience

  • 4 years sales experience required.
  • Experience managing/leading a team of sales staff required.
  • Proficient computer skills required; experience with Archtics and Ticketmaster technology, Microsoft Dynamics or other CRM strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to make sales quotas, meet with sales leads and close sales.
