MN Women's Major League Volleyball - Manager, Automation and Digital Marketing - $50,000 - $70,000 annually 

The Manager, Automation and Digital Marketing leads the execution of the team’s digital ecosystem across social, email, SMS, website, and mobile app, ensuring content and campaigns are timely, data-driven, and on brand. This role partners closely with marketing, PR, content, and revenue teams to manage day-to-day digital operations, optimize fan journeys, and drive measurable growth in engagement, ticket sales, and retention. The position is important because it connects storytelling, automation, and technology to create cohesive fan experiences that expand reach, deliver sponsor value, and support the organization’s business goals.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Lead the strategy and execution of the team’s digital and social content ecosystem.
    • Partner with the Director of Marketing and Manager, Revenue Marketing to define and execute the vision for digital and social strategy, supporting brand growth, fan engagement, and revenue objectives.
    • Lead day-to-day execution of digital and social content across platforms, ensuring content is timely, compelling, and on brand.
    • Manage and mentor a team responsible for creating and publishing high-quality digital and social content.
    • Establish annual engagement, growth, and conversion goals; track performance and report results against broader marketing and business objectives.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact with the Major League Volleyball league office and digital platform partners.
    • Support budget planning and expense management for digital and social initiatives.
    • Stay current on emerging platforms, tools, and technologies to evolve the team’s digital strategy.
    • Coordinate team news and content coverage with Public Relations and Content teams.
  • Lead and execute integrated, data-driven digital marketing campaigns.
    • Oversee strategy and execution of multi-channel digital marketing efforts across email, SMS, website, app/push notifications, social, and emerging platforms.
    • Drive revenue growth through digital channels, supporting ticket sales, member retention, retail, and premium seating initiatives.
    • Lead email and SMS marketing campaigns (B2B/B2C) from concept through execution, including strategy, segmentation, personalization, automation, and performance optimization.
    • Ensure all digital communications are cohesive, on brand, and aligned with broader marketing efforts.
  • Oversee and evolve the team’s website and app experience.
    • Own strategy, performance, and ongoing optimization of team websites and mobile app platforms.
    • Support organizational and departmental initiatives through web and app content and functionality.
    • Enhance visual design, user experience, and customer journeys to improve fan engagement and conversion.
    • Serve as primary point of contact for web development tools, CMS platforms, and digital vendors.
  • Maximize content performance, sponsorship value, and fan engagement.
    • Partner with Video Production to plan and deliver engaging, sponsor-ready digital and social content.
    • Apply best practices in content planning, publishing, community management, and platform optimization.
    • Analyze fan behavior, engagement trends, and performance metrics to refine content and distribution strategies.
    • Collaborate with Corporate Partnerships to support digital sponsorship strategy and fulfill contractual social and digital assets.
    • Identify new content formats, platforms, and distribution opportunities to expand reach and relevance.
    • Support integrated marketing campaigns that drive fan engagement, ticket sales, and organizational revenue.
    • Leverage fan feedback and performance insights to inform data-driven decisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Formal Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

 

Knowledge & Experience:

  • At least five years of digital marketing/communications experience, ideally in the sports industry.
  • Experience using automated marketing tools, ELOQUA preferred.
  • Previous experience developing, planning and executing digital content initiatives.
  • Proficient computer skills including ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with a CMS (Content Management System), social media publishing systems and HTML 5 preferred.

Work Conditions:

  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed for games and events. 
  • Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, lifting, grasping, etc. 
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
