Usher 2 - $16.50 per hour

Position Summary: The Usher 2 role delivers excellent customer service by creating a welcoming, safe, and smooth experience for guests during events. Most importantly, this position offers world-class customer service and exceeds guests’ expectations during events.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Working event entry by scanning and verifying tickets, using mobile and pedestal systems, troubleshooting access issues, and guiding guests throughout the venue.
  • Working in various support areas, including lobbies, stairwells, elevators, escalators, and crowd/line management, as well as providing coverage for team breaks.
  • Working as a Pacer by welcoming guests, supporting navigation through security checkpoints, maintaining traffic flow, and assisting with bag policy enforcement and related questions.
  • Assist as a Section Usher by verifying tickets, directing guests to seats, resolving seating issues, and supporting guests with special accommodations.
  • Provide directional assistance to seating areas, building locations, and general campus navigation.
  • Monitor compliance with facility policies, guest safety, and overall environment standards; identify and address concerns or hazards.
  • Deliver responsive, solution-oriented guest service, escalating issues to supervisors as needed and building positive guest relationships.
  • Respond to emergencies calmly by following established procedures, assisting with evacuations, and coordinating with security and leadership.

Position Requirements:

Formal Education & Certification:

  • At least 16 years old.

 

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Prior customer service experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Able to follow instructions and respond to the supervisor's direction.
  • Able to work professionally.

 

Personal Attributes:

  • Customer service oriented.
  • Fan-friendly attitude and willing to initiate conversations with guests.
  • Able to work within a team and a service-oriented environment.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Able to be flexibile within the role.

 

Work Conditions:

  • Available for a minimum of four shifts per month, except in March, when you need to be available 8 times, including commitment to work Non‑Wild and Minnesota State High School League events.
  • This position works nights, weekends, and holidays, based on the event schedule.
  • Available to work at all events.
  • Able to work all Usher 1-2 positions.
  • Ability to stand up to 4-6 hours at a time.
  • Able to walk up and down steps.
  • Ability to work in an elevator and stairwells for extended periods.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, lifting, grasping, etc., for the entirety of the shift. 
  • Lifting requirements include being able to lift up to 25 pounds. 
  • May push and pull wheelchairs up to 300 lbs.
  • Work outdoors as needed year-round. Seasonal gear will be provided.
  • This position does not guarantee a set number of hours.
