Massage Therapist
Massage Therapist - $75,000.00 - 100,000.00 annually
Position Summary: The Massage Therapist supports the health, safety, and performance of players by providing injury care, rehabilitation services, sports massage therapy, and ongoing medical support under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer and Team Physicians. This role is responsible for helping athletes recover from injuries, maintain optimal physical condition, and safely return to competition through coordinated treatment, rehabilitation, and wellness programs. The position is essential to ensuring player availability, reducing injury-related downtime, and maintaining accurate medical documentation and administrative processes that support the organization's overall healthcare operations.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Provide comprehensive manual therapies, medical care, rehabilitation support, and ongoing health management for players.
- Assist in the primary care of all players.
- Assist in the design and implementation of rehabilitation, recovery, and preventative maintenance programs.
- Advise appropriate personnel on a player's injury status and recovery progress on a daily basis.
- Work under the direct advisement of the Head Athletic Trainer and Team Physicians.
- Assist in overseeing the medical and physical well-being of the entire player roster, from NHL to Junior levels, during both the regular season and off-season.
- Assist in arranging and executing pre-season and post-season medical exams.
- Work in collaboration with the strength and conditioning staff as needed.
- Perform sports massage therapy, stretching, and other specialized manual therapies for players.
- Maintain medical documentation, administrative records, and operational resources to support team healthcare services.
- Assist in recording and maintaining inventory.
- Maintain treatment journals and medical records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Formal Education & Certification:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Current certification as an Licensed Massage Therapist preferred or required, depending on national, state, and organizational requirements.
- Graduate of an accredited Massage Therapy program with current Massage Therapy licensure or certification in the applicable jurisdiction.
- Current certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid required.
- Advanced certifications in sports massage, manual therapy, corrective exercise, or rehabilitation techniques preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and maintaining all required professional licenses and certifications.
Knowledge & Experience:
- At least two to five years of experience in sports medicine, massage therapy, or a related healthcare field, preferably within professional, collegiate, junior, or elite amateur sports environments.
- Demonstrated experience providing sports massage, soft tissue therapy, stretching, and recovery services for athletes.
- Experience collaborating with physicians, athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, and other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary sports medicine team.
- Experience maintaining accurate medical records, treatment documentation, and injury tracking systems.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment requiring flexibility, discretion, and the ability to respond to athlete needs outside of traditional business hours.
- Professional hockey, collegiate athletics, or other high-performance sports experience preferred.

Work Conditions:
- Be readily available to athletes when needed.
- Ability to work all Minnesota Wild home and away games.
- Ability to travel with the team to all away games.
- Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, lifting, grasping, etc.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
