The Manager, Merchandise Operations leads all in-venue and eCommerce retail functions to deliver a seamless, fan-focused shopping experience that reflects the Iowa Wild brand. This role is responsible for driving revenue through retail buying, inventory management, visual merchandising, staff leadership, and online sales execution, ensuring merchandise is accessible, engaging, and efficiently fulfilled across all channels. By unifying in-store and digital retail strategies, this position is critical to revenue growth, brand expansion beyond game days, and upholding the organization’s Service First commitment.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Lead and oversee day-to-day retail operations, ensuring exceptional customer service standards that elevate the in-store fan experience.
- Set service expectations and coach staff to deliver outstanding fan engagement in all retail interactions.
- Oversee point-of-sale (POS) operations, ensuring transaction accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with organizational policies.
- Direct inventory preparation and visual merchandising strategies to ensure retail spaces are fully stocked, organized, and game-day ready.
- Champion the Iowa Wild culture by fostering a fun, positive, and fan-focused retail environment.
- Manage and organize all WildWear retail storage locations, implementing systems that support efficiency and accessibility.
- Lead inventory management processes, including tracking, receiving, processing, and ensuring timely availability for the WildWear sales floor.
- Oversee the creation, management, and approval of purchase orders to support retail demand and inventory planning.
- Manage and support eCommerce initiatives to expand the Iowa Wild brand and retail reach beyond game-day audiences.
- Develop and execute strategies to grow online sales, enhance the customer experience, and increase brand visibility.
- Oversee product imaging and digital asset creation for WildWear.com, ensuring consistency with brand standards and promotional campaigns.
- Manage online order fulfillment and shipping operations, maintaining service excellence in alignment with the organization’s Service First pillar.
- Analyze eCommerce performance and operational workflows to identify opportunities for process improvement and revenue growth.
- Buy retail that matches consumer and market trends.
- Make effective, out of the box decisions that focus on consumer and fan growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Formal Education & Certification:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Four to six years of related retail operations experience.
- One to two years of experience in a supervisory role preferred.
- Experience in retail marketing, product photography and photoshop skills preferred.
- Experience with retail point of sales system and inventory management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
