Job Summary

The Video Editor will work closely with the Production team to craft dynamic, visually engaging stories that resonate with the LA Kings’ diverse fan base, celebrate the Los Angeles community, and amplify the brand’s overall message. This role is integral to the Production team’s mission: delivering the most unique and captivating content and entertainment experience in sports. From long-form storytelling to quick-turn social clips, the Video Editor will bring creativity, technical expertise, and a passion for innovation to every project.

Essential Functions

  • Edit and produce compelling video content using Adobe Creative Suite, ranging from long-form storytelling pieces to short-form social media content. Deliver high-quality videos that engage audiences across multiple platforms. Create and adapt video assets for diverse departments, including in-arena, marketing promos, broadcast spots, community recaps, and global partnership activations ensuring consistency and brand alignment.
  • Format and deliver content for internal teams and external partners, including TV networks. Oversee quality control, confirm technical specifications, and coordinate with vendors to guarantee flawless execution across all channels.
  • Independently brainstorms and implements new and exciting concepts for content including highlight sizzles and story driven episodics from concept formation through final cut; initiate/self-produce content pieces within a specified deadline. Creative content the Video Editor makes may be distributed throughout LA Kings social channels and in-arena activations, as well as on TV.
  • Support live and studio productions for the LA Kings , including assisting with livestreams, setting up lighting, operating cinema cameras, running the switcher, configuring and monitoring audio, and managing equipment setup and breakdown. This role may require travel to offsite locations and demands flexibility to adapt to the needs of each shoot.
  • Attend LA Kings home games for live content creation and distribution. This includes but is not limited to live highlight clips, edits of in-arena events for quick distribution, pulling clips as requested for game presentation team, etc. Take creative leadership on identifying clips and potential content that can come from event coverage.
  • Work with external vendors on audio mixing, footage capture, and other production needs. Take the lead on communicating project requirements, ensure adherence to technical specifications, and hold vendors accountable for meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality assets.
  • Organize media on-site and ensure proper organization of assets on internal server.

Required Qualifications

Education Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree (4-year) (Advanced Degree Preferred) in TV/Film Production or related field

Experience Qualifications

  • 4-6 years related work experience
  • Experience with audio mixing and color correction within Adobe Premiere
  • Motion Graphics, 3D Animation experience is a plus
  • Strong experience with Adobe Creative Suite is required. Must be able to perform these functions within our available libraries for music, stock footage, etc

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with all levels within the company and with external clients.
  • Able to concept and edit a video from start to finish with minimal supervision. Ability to think creatively within brand guidelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe Premiere and Media Encoder
  • Firm understanding of video compression and standard codecs used for broadcast and digital
  • Creative and skilled in many different forms of content, from marketing promotions, arena shows, social content, and long-form storytelling.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a highly demanding, time sensitive environment
  • Open to feedback and changes to their creative interpretations and edits
  • Strong sense of project ownership and dedication to delivering outstanding results
  • Excellent time management skills. Be able to complete projects under deadline with little supervision
  • Understanding of Adobe After Effects required.
  • Strong attention to detail. Be able to notice a missing frame or out-of-sync audio.
  • Ability to work games inclusive of nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Uses proper discretion when working with professional athletes and celebrities.
  • Can learn and follow NHL guidelines
  • Able to stay on top on trends and technology and integrate them into your workflow
  • Strong portfolio with a focus on storytelling

Payscale: $71,000 - $75,000

Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
