Enterprise Center and Stifel Theatre are excited about our busy upcoming season! We are looking for passionate, friendly, service-oriented leaders to join our team. Our mission is to enhance the guest experience by creating a positive environment with extraordinary customer interaction and service. Please understand that you are hired to serve guests. There will be nights when your responsibilities prevent you from seeing the events.
Rate of Pay: $19.50/hour
The Guest Experience Steward leads by example, inspires team members, and supports staff while serving as an extension of management during events. They contribute to team development by providing timely feedback and sharing important information throughout each event. Stewards assist with training and supervision to help ensure smooth and successful operations. Additionally, they act as a liaison between guests and management, helping to resolve any issues that may come up during events.
Responsibilities:
- Create a positive, welcoming environment for all guests and staff.
- Lead and supervise staff in designated areas.
- Monitor all areas for policy compliance, safety concerns and guest behavior.
- Facilitate effective verbal communication and de-escalate situations without force.
- Maintaining consistent and attentive use of radios to ensure regular and effective communication.
- Provide world-class hospitality to guests before, during, and after events.
- Ensure that only authorized people enter restricted building areas.
- Familiarize themselves with building layout, all departments, and guest policies.
- Assist with event setup including moving tables, stanchions, metal detectors, and sign placement.
- Listen to and resolve guest concerns; notify managers, if needed.
- Respond appropriately to guest and staff illness, injury, and emergencies.
- Possess strong situational awareness and decision-making skills.
- Anticipate guest needs and prevent escalation of issues.
- Understand Guest Experience Ambassador, Safety Ambassador, and Concierge post-orders.
- Be willing and able to lead staff and guests during emergencies.
- Foster a safe working environment that prioritizes teamwork, fun, and inclusion.
- Maintain a valid St. Louis City or St. Louis County Security License at all times.
- Perform additional functions and activities as directed by the Guest Experience Manager
Requirements:
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
- At least 21 years of age
- Obtain St. Louis City/ St. Louis County Security License upon hiring
- Basic computer skills and access to the internet
- Ability to read and write clearly and legibly to draft clear, thorough incident reports.
- Reliable transportation.
Work Environment:
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Standing: frequent and prolonged periods of standing and walking while at events.
- Noise levels in the venue are typically loud and consistent with large scale events. This also includes the presence of lights and potential fog machines.
- Must be comfortable assisting in wheelchair escorts when needed.
New Hire Bonus: $250 bonus for new Team Members once they work their first 25 events. (Re-hires are not eligible).
