DESCRIPTION:
The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation hosts a 50/50 Raffle during each Penguins home game.  The 50/50 Raffle is staffed by Pittsburgh Penguins employees and proceeds benefit Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation programs and local 501c3 charities.  The Pittsburgh Penguins are looking for employees to coordinate the 50/50 Raffle operations during each home game, as well as help promote the mission of the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation. 

 Duties and responsibilities for each game are described below:
  • 50/50 Raffle Coordinators oversee the operations on gamedays. They are responsible for setting up the draw, passing out equipment to the sellers, closing the draw, and handling the winner. The Coordinators take responsibility when the 50/50 Manager is unavailable.
  • 50/50 Raffle Coordinators may also be required to sell 50/50 tickets.
  • Must arrive 2- 2.5 hours prior to game start time and work through the conclusion of the game. There are two shifts for each gameday and will be communicated with your schedule
         -  For example, the shifts begin at 4:30 or 5 PM for a 7 PM game.
         -  These start times depend upon the time doors open.
  • Act in a professional manner: absolutely NO consumption of alcohol or tobacco.
  • Responsible and held accountable for all sales reporting throughout the game.
  • Representation of the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation in a positive manner; Ability to speak to the mission of the Penguins Foundation.
  • Completion of required training at the start of the season and, as necessary, during the season.
  • During the game, Raffle Coordinators will circulate the concourse to make sure sellers are following their protocol and are not experiencing any issues. One Coordinator will always remain in the box office to monitor the online platform and messaging system.
  • Your duties during games may include assistance at other Penguins Foundation initiatives. 
  • Must adhere to all current COVID-19 protocols as set forth by arena officials to keep arena visitors, workers, players and performers safe. Current protocols will be communicated clearly by the 50/50 Raffle Manager. 
  • Must dress in business professional attire– a blazer or suit jacket is required. No jeans.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EMPLOYEE CHARACTERISTICS:
  • Prior customer service, sales and technical experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Available to work all/majority of Penguins home games (preseason, regular season, playoffs), working a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and certain holidays; a season schedule can be found here: https://www.nhl.com/penguins/schedule/2022-10-01/ET/list.
  • Must have exceptional oral communication skills.
  • Must be personable, extroverted, and a team player.
  • Must be 21 years or older to apply.
  • Subject to criminal background check.
 
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • This is a paid position offered at a gameday rate to be reviewed during the interview process.
  • The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation is looking for a group of approximately 6 Coordinators with a minimum of 2 Coordinators required to work each game. Schedule will rotate.
  • Selected Coordinators will be educated and trained in the 50/50 fundraising program on the kiosks and handheld devices, and provided with information about the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation.
