Senior Producer/Editor, Digital Content

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
SUMMARY
NHL Productions Digital team is seeking a senior‑level multimedia editor/producer who can craft compelling stories that resonate across every screen. This role blends creative vision, hands‑on editing, and platform‑specific storytelling to reach fans wherever they are — from long‑form YouTube series to fast‑moving social content.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Edit digital‑first content across long‑form, short‑form, and vertical video formats. Manage projects from concept through final delivery, including editing, producing, writing, shooting, and post‑production
- Ideate, develop, and produce athlete‑driven, lifestyle‑focused, and behind‑the‑scenes storytelling that connects with fans
- Edit and deliver promos, trailers, weekly programming, sponsored content, and core NHL Digital features
- Edit and produce on‑site content at major NHL tentpole events (Winter Classic, All‑Star, Stadium Series, etc.)
- Create and edit static/motion graphics for use in long and short-form features
- Use data and platform insights to shape and evolve the NHL’s YouTube strategy
- Demonstrate strong hockey knowledge — players, teams, storylines, and league culture
- Maintain digital fluency — current trends, platform behaviors, and optimization strategies
- Work effectively in a fast‑paced, reactive environment where priorities and deadlines shift quickly
- Create content that feels authentically NHL and aligns with the league’s core creative standards
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
- A sample reel/links of your work is required. Applications without reel/sample work/links will not be considered
- 5–7+ years of experience editing and producing multimedia content
- Experience contributing to YouTube channel strategy for a sports brand or media organization
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere and Photoshop
- Strong understanding of video formats, compression, and media management
- Experience working on deadline‑driven digital and social content
- After Effects and motion graphics experience strongly preferred
- Experience operating video cameras and lighting equipment for on‑site production is a plus
- Excellent organizational and project‑management skills; ability to independently research and develop projects
- Strong communication skills and ability to execute feedback effectively
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and travel as required by the NHL calendar
- Must be willing to travel
