Senior Manager, Media Distribution

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
SUMMARY
The Sr. Manager, Media Distribution will assist in the management of day-to-day operational and business-related issues. The Sr. Manager will work to ensure the seamless delivery of live game feed transmissions and manage blackout policies in both linear and digital environments for NHL regional, national, and international platforms. The position requires technical
expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and global stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee feed delivery of NHL games to broadcast/streaming distribution territories and ensure territorial compliance with rights agreements
- Manage feed transmissions, authorizations, and delivery changes with technical partners and rightsholders to maximize reliability and cost efficiency
- Establish, implement, and enforce blackout guidelines for domestic and international providers
- Communicate broadcast schedule changes to linear and digital partners in a timely manner
- Serve as point of contact regarding technical and delivery issues during live games
- Monitor regional, national, and international game feeds and troubleshoot distribution challenges as they arise
- Support and manage distribution of international games and NHL Events including Global Series, Winter Classic, Stadium Series, and Stanley Cup Final
- Manage invoice processing, budget tracking, and vendor management related to feed delivery
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with domestic and global broadcasters
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
- 6+ years of experience in media distribution, broadcast operations, or related fields
- Strong knowledge of broadcast, streaming, and digital media workflows
- Proven ability to manage complex schedules and technical policies
- Experience working with domestic and international partners and navigating global feed distribution challenges
- A team player with an exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks - to stop and handle urgent ad hoc matters, while not losing sight of priorities
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- College degree in sports media or relevant field
- A positive, energetic attitude and a quick study on sports broadcasting and technology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Track record of proven creative problem-solving and collaborative leadership
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays, during game times, as needed
