WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

SUMMARY
The National Hockey League (NHL) is seeking a Senior Manager, Club Business Insights & Analytics to help advance business intelligence, benchmarking, and analytics capabilities across all 32 NHL Clubs. 
 
This individual will partner directly with Club business leaders and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for revenue growth, operational improvement, and stronger business performance. The successful candidate will lead high-impact analytics initiatives, build league-wide insights and benchmarking frameworks, and help shape the future direction of Club Analytics across the League. 
 
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical expertise with business acumen, clear communication, and a consultative approach to problem-solving. They are comfortable working with large datasets, developing executive-ready insights, and engaging directly with Club leadership to support data-driven decision-making. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Partner directly with NHL Clubs to analyze business performance and identify opportunities for growth and improvement. 
  • Develop and maintain league-wide benchmarking programs, performance scorecards, and analytics frameworks. 
  • Deliver actionable insights related to ticketing performance, premium seating, attendance, fan engagement, retention, and revenue generation. 
  • Lead the development and enhancement of reporting and analytics solutions used by Clubs and NHL leadership. 
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear recommendations and executive-level presentations. 
  • Support strategic initiatives focused on revenue growth, business intelligence, reporting standardization, and analytics adoption. 
  • Collaborate with Ticketing, Premium Seating, Business Analytics, Fan Engagement, Data Science, Technology, and Club stakeholders. 
  • Identify and share best practices across Clubs to help improve business performance. 
  • Ensure the quality, consistency, and reliability of reporting outputs and key business metrics. 
  • Mentor junior analytics resources and help establish analytics and reporting best practices across the organization. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS 
Knowledge Areas/Experience  
Required 
  • 5-7 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, strategy, consulting, revenue optimization, or a related field. 
  • Previous experience working for a professional sports team, league office, collegiate athletics department, sports consulting organization, venue operator, or related sports business environment. 
  • Demonstrated experience creating executive-level reporting, presentations, and analytics-driven recommendations. 
  • Advanced proficiency with Tableau, Power BI, or similar business intelligence tools. 
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets. 
  • Experience partnering directly with business stakeholders and communicating analytical findings to non-technical audiences. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously. 

Preferred 
  • Experience supporting ticket sales, premium seating, CRM, fan engagement, marketing analytics, or commercial business operations. 
  • Experience building benchmarking frameworks and performance measurement programs. 
  • Experience with Python, R, or other analytical programming languages. 
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems, CRM platforms, fan data environments, or customer analytics. 
  • Experience working with executive leadership and presenting business recommendations. 
 
Education/Certifications 
  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Sports Management, or a related field. 
  • Master's degree preferred but not required.

SALARY RANGE:
 $100-125k
 
Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
