WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
SUMMARY
The Senior Director will lead the NHL’s analysis of leaguewide primary ticket sales, secondary market ticket sales, and premium seating leases/rentals. The Senior Director will build models, create visualizations, and identify relevant trends. The Senior Director will communicate with other internal stakeholders, as well as ticketing, premium, and business analytics personnel at the 32 Clubs. The Senior Director will manage existing personnel while collaborating with the Group Vice President, Strategy & Analytics and the Director, Club Ticketing & Premium Seating.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze League and Club data to provide insights and analysis of ticketing growth opportunities and consumer trends
- Lead the NHL’s efforts to better understand Club primary ticketing trends via the League’s BLADE primary ticketing integration project
- Create and maintain Tableau dashboards for leaguewide reporting and Club-specific analysis
- Assist the Senior Manager, Ticketing Strategy and Analytics with improving and monitoring the primary and secondary ticket data flows from external sources
- Contribute to the League’s ticketing strategies to drive revenue via tentpole events
- Implement robust quality control processes and guardrails around all ticketing data
- Build partnerships with business leaders internally and at the 32 Clubs to further embed ticketing analytics into strategic planning
- Assist with planning and execution of specific sessions at the NHL Ticketing Workshop and the NHL Business Strategy & Analytics Workshop
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
- 12+ years experience in a similar analytics role
- Previous experience in the sports industry, including familiarity with ticketing data
- Significant experience with SQL, Python (or similar language), Tableau, and Excel
- Experience maintaining and querying data in a data warehouse
- Proven ability to derive a narrative and create actionable next steps from data-driven insights
- Experience delivering presentations to sports industry executives
- General knowledge about sports ticketing trends
Preferred
- Experience with building data science models (regression, clustering, neural networks, etc.) is a plus
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Business Analytics, Economics, Statistics, or a related field strongly preferred

SALARY RANGE:
$160-180k
Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
