WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

SUMMARY
The NHL Studios Production Assistant position is a temporary position.  The target start date is January 20, 2026.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes days, potential nights, weekends and holidays.

Candidate should have an extensive knowledge of the NHL including its history, current teams, players, and coaches. Will assist on research, footage procurement, production, and post-production for broadcast & digital media.  
 
Key responsibilities will be to support the production of high-quality video content for the NHL and all its partners. Clients may also include internal NHL departments with a focus on, but not limited to, the support of NHL initiatives, tent pole events, corporate presentations, commercial productions, long form shows, documentaries and various other projects throughout the year. Qualified individual should have a thorough understanding of broadcast production and post-production. Graphic creation and animation experience is preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Self-starter who can work on their own and take direction from others and implement those suggestions in a cordial and professional manner
  • Candidate should have experience working in television multimedia production environment
  • Understanding of post-production and all that is required for timely execution of projects
  • Research, footage procurement, file management, editing, exporting media in various formats
  • The ability and or willingness to learn the various production positions and equipment within the control room and studio.  Positions can include switcher, studio audio, cameras, lighting, EVS playback, teleprompter and Xpression graphics will all fall under responsibilities of this individual
  • Ability to communicate with senior staff and clients is needed for optimal production workflow
  • Must be very flexible with working hours, as day and night hours, weekdays and weekends are required as well as being on call for last minute production needs.  Your workday can extend as production demands change, so schedule flexibility is a key component to the position
  • Travel will be required

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience in production and post-production related roles
  • Extensive knowledge of the NHL, its players, coaches, teams and history
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and other Adobe Suite Software
  • Knowledge of studio & field production techniques and the ability to help organize shoots
 
Preferred
  • Experience with various broadcast equipment
  • Experience in studio or control room setting is a plus
  • French or additional languages a plus

 Education/Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment working on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to learn new production skills and adapt to an ever-changing department
  • Proven ability to work closely with co-workers in a broadcast production environment

SALARY RANGE:
 $30-35/hour 
 
Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
