WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

SUMMARY
The Production Assistant is a seasonal temporary full-time position for NHL Entertainment & Game Presentation department that provides day-to-day support on both in-office and on-site duties related to NHL tentpole events for the 2025-2026 season. 

This temporary position will begin in Fall 2025 and conclude in Spring 2026. While this position is based out of the NHL's NYC office, it will require travel within the United States and Canada.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Support the Entertainment & Game Presentation team in the planning and executing of NHL tentpole events
  • Perform administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, taking notes, developing agendas, managing production schedules, and organizing team members
  • Contribute to the development and coordination of game scripts, promotional content, graphic package concepts, and fan engagement activities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create unforgettable game-day moments while fulfilling contractual obligations
  • Provide on-site support with talent management, prop procurement, outfitting, ticket distribution, etc.
  • Serve as Stage Manager for designated tentpole events and live productions; supporting the team in preparing and executing in-game promotions, contests, and on-camera segments with talent
  • Provide day to day support to all of our 32 clubs by distributing relevant content, conducting and contextualizing surveys, and sharing best practices
  • Demonstrate a strong grasp of current pop culture trends and effectively incorporate them into engaging entertainment elements
  • Other Entertainment & Game Presentation duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
  • 1-2 years of experience in live events, preferably in the sports & entertainment industry
  • Strong understanding of live event production, multimedia technology, and fan engagement strategies
  • Passion for hockey and a strong knowledge of the NHL and our 32 clubs

 Education/Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Television/Video Production, or a related field

  • Self-starter with enthusiasm, creativity and ability to work effectively in a publicly visible, high pressure, and deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Proficient in relevant computer applications and digital tools
  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays, as well as travel to host event cities within the United States and Canada
  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds and stand for extended periods of time; tolerate loud music, bright lights, pyrotechnics, and other arena conditions

SALARY RANGE:
$30/hour 
 
Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
