WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

SUMMARY
The National Hockey League (NHL) is seeking a Manager, Technology Training & AI Enablement to design, lead, and scale a modern learning program that builds technology confidence and AI fluency across the League.

This role will create and deliver programs that help NHL employees understand, adopt, and maximize the value of the League’s digital tools, platforms, and AI capabilities. You will lead initiatives that make technology approachable, drive innovation readiness, and create a culture of continuous learning.

Reporting to the IT leadership team, this individual will collaborate closely with department heads, technical teams, and business units to align training strategies with organizational goals and the League’s long-term digital transformation vision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Program Strategy & Learning Design
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-channel learning strategy for technology and AI enablement across the organization
  • Establish a training roadmap that supports technology adoption, innovation, and digital literacy goals
  • Build partnerships with IT, HR, and Communications to ensure alignment between training programs and organizational objectives
  • Continuously evaluate learning needs and emerging trends to evolve the program

Curriculum Development & Delivery
  • Design and deliver role-based, interactive learning experiences using a blend of methods—live instruction, microlearning, e-learning, and on-demand resources. Incorporate topics such as:
    • Collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Monday, Slack, etc.)
    • Cybersecurity and data privacy
    • Digital and data literacy
    • AI fundamentals and responsible AI use
    • Workflow automation and analytics tools
  • Utilize modern learning platforms (LMS, AI-powered learning systems, and video learning tools) to enable scalability and personalization
  • Partner with subject matter experts and product owners to maintain content accuracy and relevance
  • Create certification or badge programs to promote learning milestones and recognition

AI & Emerging Technology Enablement
  • Develop and integrate AI literacy and upskilling programs that help employees understand and confidently use AI-driven tools
  • Partner with the AI and Data teams to build hands-on learning modules, use-case showcases, and ethical AI awareness campaigns
  • Serve as an internal advocate for responsible and productive use of emerging technologies

Change Management & Communication
  • Lead communications for technology rollouts, emphasizing user impact, benefits, and learning opportunities
  • Develop clear, engaging support materials—quick guides, FAQs, video tutorials, and knowledge base content
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to design adoption campaigns that encourage engagement and measure success
  • Foster a feedback loop with departments to improve the learning experience and adoption outcomes

Measurement & Continuous Improvement
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as participation, adoption rate, learner satisfaction, and proficiency improvements
  • Use analytics to identify skill gaps and measure return on learning (ROL)
  • Report insights and recommendations to IT and business leadership to drive continuous improvement

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
  • 5–8 years of experience in technology training, digital enablement, and enterprise learning program management
  • Proven ability to design and deliver engaging, user-centered learning content for a diverse workforce
  • Familiarity with AI fundamentals, digital productivity tools, and modern enterprise platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, Slack, SAP, etc.)
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning authoring tools, and AI-driven learning technologies
  • Experience driving technology adoption and managing change in dynamic, fast-paced environments
  • Passion for sports, innovation, and helping people unlock their potential through technology

 Education/Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology education, Organizational Development, or related field

Required Skills

SALARY RANGE:
 $120-145K
 
Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
