SUMMARY
The National Hockey League is committed to creating compelling digital experiences that bring the excitement of hockey to fans around the globe, while supporting and empowering our 32 member Clubs to do the same. We are seeking a Manager, Digital Platforms to join our team and help achieve our mission. Our team’s portfolio includes digital products such as the NHL App, NHL.com, NHL.TV, streaming and connected device apps, plus support for all 32 Club.com sites and other digital properties & platforms as needed.
In this role, you will work with a team of dedicated content creators, producers, sponsorship and marketing experts across the NHL and Clubs, while partnering with product managers, project managers, designers and engineers both inside our organization and at best-of-breed vendors across the globe.
Our ideal Manager has a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the Digital Product & Operations field. They know how to juggle priorities in real-time, build relationships, guide producers on best practices while empowering them to “fish for themselves,” and provide first-line production & operations support to help deliver success for the business, the fans, and the team itself. Your day-to-day will focus on support for Clubs and NHL Product Production & Operations, reporting directly to Director, Digital Platforms.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a hockey enthusiast, with first-line responsibility as to how our digital platforms present our games, teams and players directly to our fans, deepening the relationship between the NHL and its global fanbase and making an impact on NHL’s business objectives in a rapidly growing and transforming industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Day-to-day Production & Operations of our digital products, including but not limited to NHL.com & NHL App
- Serve as a point of contact for Clubs, to support their use of our tools to power their site production and operate their digital platforms
- Work with the various internal groups (e.g., content, marketing, sales, production) to execute projects and digital commitments
- Assist in the implementation of GTM and GA4 across web platforms, ensuring that all tags are correctly set up to capture necessary data
- Empower best-practice sharing amongst Clubs & NHL
- Lead by example in creating a work environment where we lift each other up and push each other towards our collective success
- Keep a pulse on the sports, media, and entertainment best practices and trends, to create best-in-class products and digital experiences
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
- 3-5 years minimum experience in Digital Productions & Operations
- Mature, highly organized individual with attention to detail and strong follow-through
- Reliable, self-starting team player with a positive, energetic attitude, prepared to work nights/weekends during specific events and times during the hockey season alongside teammates and colleagues who have a passion for bringing hockey to the masses!
- An eye for visual design and how it impacts the fan experience
- A knack for learning how to use various digital tools and platforms
- A knowledge of hockey and a firm comprehension of its history, rules, and culture
- A compelling communicator with strong written and verbal skills
Preferred
- Experience working in Content Management Systems to produce sites and operate platforms a plus
- Experience working in Forge and Page Builder
- Experience working with Google Tag Manager
- Experience with live streaming and VOD operations
- Bachelor’s Degree

SALARY RANGE:
$80-85K
Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
