WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

SUMMARY
The NHL Security Department seeks a detail oriented professional with strong critical thinking skills and experience in both intelligence analysis and the integration of event security operations. The individual will analyze the threat landscape, develop intelligence products, and conduct aspects of security planning and operations for special events. The individual will work within the NHL Security Operations Center (NSOC) to and focus on all aspects of the NHL Security Department’s mission to mitigate risk, author and disseminate intelligence products, develop and coordinate security plans, and implement security requirements at special events in cooperation with venue operators, law enforcement, emergency management personnel, international partners, and state and federal government agencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Analyze threats, identify vulnerabilities, estimate consequences, and recommend mitigation measures for a variety of threat vectors relevant to NHL events and assets
  • Create written notices of security developments in various segments of security and brief stakeholders
  • Collect and analyze information to produce written intelligence products
  • Utilize current and new technology tools to perform security notifications, disseminate intelligence products, catalog security audits, and advance Department initiatives
  • Leverage data analytics and tools to create actionable intelligence, including global trends and business impact, for decision makers 
  • Provides input to the development of standards, policies, and procedures to support cross-functional business intelligence solutions affecting one or more departments
  • Develop security procedures and plans to enhance and integrate security operations, manage risk, and ensure vulnerability mitigation
  • Assist in security surveys and venue audits at multiple locations to ensure NHL requirements for arena security compliance
  • Assist in coordinating all mass gathering infrastructure support, security staffing schedules, magnetometer settings, x-ray placements, federal support, SEAR data coordination, and other associated activities necessary for the safety of NHL events
  • Supervise vendors and third-party personnel
  • Conduct other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
  • At least two years of experience with the Intelligence Community performing work similar in scope to intelligence collection and production
  • At least two years of experience with multijurisdictional security planning, including implementation of national preparedness concepts
  • Demonstrated experience with National Security Special Events, Special Events Assessment Ratings, or similar policy and operations
  • Demonstrated experience with the creation and dissemination of intelligence products and emergency notifications in a high paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to independently author intelligence products, create in-depth security plans, and conduct presentations to large groups
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the concepts in the National Infrastructure Protection Plan, the  SAFETY Act, and national security special events
 
Required Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to succinctly articulate and defend your own empirically driven analysis
  • Must be willing to travel approximately 50 percent
  • Must be willing to conduct work during both regular business hours as well as nights and weekends

SALARY RANGE:
 $110-120K
 
Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
