WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
SUMMARY
The NHL is seeking a Manager, Fan Analytics, who will serve as a key member of the Fan Engagement & Analytics team, responsible for deriving data driven insights that support leaguewide fan engagement, primary and secondary market ticketing performance, and strategic growth initiatives across all 32 Clubs.
This role will oversee the analysis of fan, ticketing, premium seating, and behavioral data—leveraging both raw datasets and outputs from statistical models. The Manager will support executive decision-making, lead cross-functional analytic projects, and collaborate closely with Clubs, internal stakeholders, and the BLADE project team.
This position requires strong analytical acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to transform complex data into clear, actionable insights.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze League and Club fan (BLADE) data to identify trends, behavioral patterns, and growth opportunities
- Interface directly with NHL Clubs to assess fan data, provide club-specific insights, and support data-driven decision-making
- Establish and maintain quality standards for customer profiles, fan data accuracy, and overall data hygiene
- Manage sponsorship and premium fan data collection processes and related data portals
- Create simple, clear, and highly visual dashboards and reports to communicate insights across the League
- Deliver insights that support ticketing and premium sales strategies for all 32 Clubs
- Analyze leaguewide primary and secondary market data to provide insights into pricing, demand, yield optimization, and consumer trends
- Support and refine data flows into the NHL’s internal ticketing data warehouse
- Build standardized leaguewide Tableau dashboards and reporting suites for Clubs and League stakeholders
- Collaborate with Ticketing, Business Analytics, and Fan Engagement teams to identify revenue-generating opportunities
- Translate complex analyses into clear narratives and actionable recommendations
- Present insights and trends to internal teams, Clubs, and executives in a digestible, visually compelling manner
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
- 3-5 years of work experience in data strategy or analytics, or business intelligence role
- Strong technical proficiency including:
- Advanced dashboarding and data visualization skills (Tableau, Domo, Power BI, Looker, etc)
- Advanced Excel, strong PowerPoint
- Experience with SQL (intermediate+)
- Experience or working knowledge of analytical tools such as Python or R
- Experience with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Bricks, etc.
Preferred
- Experience within a major professional/collegiate sports team or league (NHL, MLB, MLS, NBA, NFL, NCAA), but industry experience is not required
Education/Certifications
- The ideal candidate will, at minimum, have a degree in a relevant area from a four-year college or university

SALARY RANGE:
$100-105K
Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
