WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

SUMMARY
The National Hockey League is looking for our next class of interns to join our 2026 Summer Internship Program. 
 
The Images team is seeking a Summer Intern to support the organization, digitization, and distribution of photography assets, as well as assist with operational projects that support photographers, archives, and team stakeholders. This internship offers hands-on experience working with professional sports photography, image archives, and asset management workflows. 
 
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has an interest in photography, sports media, or digital asset management. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Archival Digitization & Asset Processing 
  • Digitize physical slide assets, prints and other miscellaneous photo assets in accordance with established scanning, handling, and quality-control procedures 
  • Organize, inventory, and prepare physical slides for return to originating photographers, including coordination of outbound shipments 
  • Support the captioning, metadata review, and preparation of scanned image assets for submission to Getty Images 
  • Coordinate with internal teams responsible for image tagging and metadata validation to ensure assets meet established archival and distribution standards 

Team and Venue Data Collection & Organization 
  • Assist with the collection, verification, and maintenance of team-level photography data:  
    • Ensure all collected information is accurate, standardized, and maintained within shared internal resources 

Event & On-Site Operational Support 
  • Provide on-site operational assistance at select events as needed, supporting photography workflows, credentialing logistics, and other Images-related operational needs 

Photography Support 
  • For candidates with photography experience, assist with in-office photography requests as needed 

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
  • Experience with Photo Mechanic 
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Lightroom) 
  • Experience using project management or workflow tools such as monday.com 
  • Knowledge of scanning and printing software and machinery 

Preferred
  • Photography experience is preferred but not required 

 Education/Certifications
  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in an accredited university/college pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

Required Skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to manage repetitive, process-driven tasks with accuracy and consistency 
  • Ability to support on-site event operations, including working in fast-paced environments, following operational protocols, and assisting with photography-related logistics 
  • Interest in photography, image archives, digital asset management, or media operations

All of our internships are paid at $20/hour. WE DO NOT OFFER SCHOOL CREDIT.
