WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

SUMMARY
The National Hockey League is looking for our next class of interns to join our 2026 Summer Internship Program.  
 
The NHL Creative Services Department (CSD) is seeking a highly creative and motivated Graphic Design student for a paid summer internship. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, professional sports league environment. NHL CSD is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the NHL brand across all consumer touchpoints. You'll be involved in a variety of creative and organizational tasks that will provide valuable insights into the operations of an in-house design department. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Support design team and production workflows, Assist the creative team with the design and production of both print and digital projects  
  • Organize and archive league assets, including logos, style guides, and images  
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute design concepts for campaigns  
  • Update player assets/images, including image selection, re-touching and silhouetting  
  • Conduct research on creative trends to inform design strategies

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.  
  • Strong design portfolio showcasing an understanding of layout, typography, and branding  
 
Preferred
  • Experience with animation and motion graphics a plus 
  • Hockey knowledge is a plus 

 Education/Certifications
  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in an accredited university/college pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Graphic Design, Visual Arts, etc.) 

Required Skills
  • Ability to take creative direction, collaborate in a team environment, and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines  
  • Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail  
  • Self-starter with a proactive attitude who asks questions and seeks feedback when needed  
  • Passion for sports and entertainment marketing

All of our internships are paid at $20/hour. WE DO NOT OFFER SCHOOL CREDIT.
