WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

SUMMARY
The National Hockey League is looking for our next class of interns to join our 2026 Summer Internship Program. 
 
The Sponsorship Sales team supports the process of securing corporate partnerships that drive new revenue for the league by leveraging the NHL’s marketing rights, league events, community initiatives, media channels, and emerging platforms. As a Business Development - Sales Intern, you will play an important role in helping the team research potential partners, support outreach efforts, and contribute to building a strong pipeline of brands interested in working with the NHL.
 
This role is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about sales, marketing, and the sports industry. The ideal candidate is proactive, curious, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn how major sports partnerships are developed from the ground up. You will work closely with the Business Development team to assist with day‑to‑day tasks that ultimately help drive new sponsorship opportunities for the League.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Business Development Prospecting  
    • Development of lead sheets and other collateral ahead of new business calls 
    • Industry specific research in open categories 
    • Detailed research on emerging categories and brands 
    • Sourcing key contacts at prospects 

  • Help support conversations with proactive research on NHL partners who are up for renewal at the end of the season 

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • College student with an interest in Sales, Marketing, and the Sports Industry 

 Education/Certifications
  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in an accredited university/college pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

Required Skills
  • Highly organized, attention to details and strong follow-through
  • Ability to multi-task and follow-up in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent written and verbal skills

All of our internships are paid at $20/hour. WE DO NOT OFFER SCHOOL CREDIT.
