SUMMARY
This position on the NHL Social Media team contributes to day-to-day vertical video content ideation, creation and publishing strategy. The ideal candidate is an innovative vertical video content creator ingrained in the latest platform trends and best practices. This is a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment - reaching millions of hockey fans around the globe with sharp video editing, witty copywriting and trend-savvy creativity. Not only does this person fully understand TikTok and its features, but they additionally are proficient in creating content for Snapchat, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and stories across various platforms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ideate, create and publish video content for the NHL’s social media channels, with a heavy emphasis on TikTok, Snapchat and Reels
· Monitor performance of posts to inform publishing and content strategies and identify attributes that lead to successful posts
· Monitor sports leagues, teams, broadcaster and athlete accounts to identify trends, best practices, new audiences, new collaborations and new ideas
Have flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required based on the game and event schedule and departmental scheduling needs, however this role requires predominantly night and weekend shifts

QUALIFICATIONS
· Thorough understanding of the TikTok landscape and TikTok-specific strategies including social trends, viral sounds, pop culture and other new and emerging platforms
· Possesses copywriting and community management skills
· A committed self-starter that can keep themselves motivated to work independently
· Experience shooting video content is a bonus but not necessary

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· 1-3 years of social media content production experience
· BA preferred
· Experience with video editing tools including, but not limited to Adobe Premiere, CapCut, ClipPro and iPhone editing apps and has the editing chops to make the traditionally horizontal shot game of hockey and bring it to life vertically
· Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
· Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence at leadership levels
· Highly organized, attentive to details and a strong follow-through
· Possesses a positive and energetic attitude
