WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

SUMMARY
The Department of Player Safety seeks to hire an individual to work part-time during the NHL season in a Coordinator role providing support to the Department as needed. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Monitor all NHL games including Pre-Season, Regular Season and Play-Off Games for player conduct and incidents that may lead to Supplemental Discipline, potential rule changes or discussion
  • Create and distribute video clips to department for discussion
  • Assist in preparing Player Discipline Hearings, including providing NHLPA with video clips
  • Assist in producing “Informational Videos” regarding Player Safety. These videos will feature explanations of suspensions, monetary fines, non-suspensions, and League Directives
  • Contribute to preparation in presentations for GM, BOG & Competition Committee Meetings
  • Various miscellaneous responsibilities as assigned
  • Ability to work nights, holidays and weekends as scheduled

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
  • Strong knowledge of the NHL rules and NHL players
 
Preferred
  • Previous experience playing or officiating hockey is strongly preferred

Required Skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary
  • Ability to work as a member of a team in an often high pressure environment
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Availability to work approximately 25 hours a week

SALARY RANGE:
 $25/Hour 
 
Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
