Assistant, International Strategy

SUMMARY
The Assistant, International Strategy will provide high-level administrative, operational, and project support to the Executive Vice President, International Strategy, while helping to coordinate strategic initiatives that advance the NHL's international growth objectives. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across a fast-paced global business environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the EVP's complex calendar, including scheduling meetings across multiple countries and time zones.
- Coordinate domestic and international travel, including flights, accommodations, visas, itineraries, and related logistics.
- Prepare meeting agendas, briefing materials, presentations, and executive correspondence.
- Track and manage action items, follow-ups, and strategic priorities stemming from executive meetings.
- Support the planning and execution of international business initiatives, events, summits, and stakeholder engagements.
- Coordinate cross-functional communications with departments including Business Development, Marketing, Events, Communications, Legal, Finance, and Hockey Operations.
- Assist in preparing board materials, executive presentations, market assessments, and strategic planning documents.
- Maintain confidential information and exercise discretion when handling sensitive business matters.
- Manage expense reporting, invoice processing, budget tracking, and vendor administration.
- Conduct research on international markets, partnerships, growth opportunities, and industry trends.
- Support project management efforts by monitoring timelines, deliverables, meeting cadence, and stakeholder communications.
- Serve as a key point of coordination for international partner meetings, league events, and executive visits.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
- 3–5+ years of executive administrative support experience, preferably supporting a senior executive.
- Experience coordinating international travel and meetings across multiple time zones.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Experience preparing executive-level presentations, reports, and communications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Experience working in a fast-paced corporate, sports, entertainment, media, or global business environment.
- German-language fluency.
- Experience supporting international business, strategy, business development, or global operations teams.
- Knowledge of the sports, media, entertainment, or international events industries.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional strategic initiatives.
- Familiarity with international business practices and global stakeholder management.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Word.
- Exceptional calendar and meeting management capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with senior executives and external partners.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong project management and follow-through capabilities.
