Overview
The intern will assist the Marketing Department with the planning and implementation of all Fan Zone and CBJ Mobile Tour summer events including data collection and data input. These events may include: NHL Draft Party, Dublin Irish Festival, Columbus Air Show, Honda Indy 200, and other events across Columbus and the state of Ohio.
 
Duties and tasks:
•     Help conduct CBJ Mobile Tour community events and special projects, including pre-planning, event execution, and event summary
·       Support the ideation and implementation of activations for the Blue Jackets events at Nationwide Arena. This includes, but not limited to, the Fan Zone, NHL Draft Party, and ticket sales Open House events 
·       Assist in the creation of event outlines, timelines, layouts, maps, and various other planning documents for all events
·       Aid in the organization’s fan acquisition strategy through executions that drive data collection 
·       Maintain an updated inventory of all marketing assets for off-season events as well as promotional inventory
·       Utilize CBJ vehicles that we will be using for the Mobile Tour including event load and unload, and ensuring vehicles are properly maintained
·       Flexible office work including the management of CBJ fan mail and other duties as assigned

Learning Objectives:
·       Learn how to execute a successful fan facing event, from the planning to on-site activation through summary and analysis 
·       Leadership development in the partial oversight of part-time employees, planning & managing event logistics and serving as an ambassador to the Team
 
Intern Availability
·       20-25 intern hours available each week.  
·       Internship timeline: May – early September
·       Must be available for all Fan Zone and CBJ Mobile Tour summer events

Requirements:
·       Must be enrolled in college, sophomore or above preferred, sports management, marketing, business, or related major is preferred
·       Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
·       Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
·       Ability to work in a team environment
·       High attention to details
·       Ability to address, adapt to, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced dynamic environment
·       Able and willing to perform physical labor
·       Must be available during weekends and holidays
·       Valid driver’s license required
