Summary
The Director of Group Sales is responsible for training, mentoring, motivating and coaching the group sales staff. Develops and implements a Group Sales Strategic Plan designed to meet or exceed the annual sales goals set forth by senior management. Oversees the sales and service activities related to group tickets, group hospitality areas, nightly suite rentals and other group ticket products created in the future. Responsible for implementing effective systems to monitor the professional development and sales production of each member of the sales staff and the achievement of reaching or exceeding the overall sales goals set forth for each season.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide overall leadership for group ticket sales and service initiatives
- Oversee sales efforts involving group tickets, group hospitality areas and nightly suite rentals
- Responsible for the recruiting, hiring and professional development of group sales staff
- Provide ongoing training, coaching and mentoring for group sales staff
- Lead regular staff meetings and facilitate discussion and sharing of ideas related to growing group sales revenue
- Prepare and manage an annual Group Sales Strategic Plan and budget in concert with appropriate staff and senior management that encompasses the sales and retention of all our various group ticket buying customers
- Effectively manage various group assets / experiences to maximize group ticket sales at all home games
- Prepare timely and accurate sales reports that monitor the progress of the group sales team both individually and collectively and ensure that we maintain proper sales pacing to meet the goals set forth
- Work with members of senior management to manage relationships with outside vendors and corporate partners related to the sale of group tickets, group hospitality areas and nightly suite rentals
- Work closely with marketing staff on the promotion of the Club as it relates to driving group sales revenue
- Work closely with Business Strategy Manager on CRM / Database initiatives including data collection, analytics and marketing directly related to generating incremental group sales revenue
- Assist Marketing personnel with the development of sales and support materials
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees in the Group Sales Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Administration or business field. Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in sales with a professional sports team and at least two (2) years of experience working in a ticket sales management role. Superior communication skills, collaborative with strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Results oriented leader with proven ability to motivate people and maximize revenue production. Proven track record in ticket sales – in terms of both personal accomplishments and leading successful sales teams. Must be enthusiastic, creative and able to think both strategically and tactically. Ability to work in a dynamic, high paced environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time. Highest level of personal and professional integrity and ethics. Strong customer service skills. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience working with Ticketmaster and Archtics ticketing system preferred. Experience working with SalesForce or similar CRM system. Willingness and ability to work long hours, including holidays and weekends as required
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft CRM, Ticketmaster and Archtics software.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
