Junior Sous Chef – Concessions

We’re looking for a hands-on, high-energy Junior Sous Chef to take on a leadership role overseeing all concessions cooking operations at the Lenovo Center. This position is responsible for setting the tone in the kitchen - leading by example, organizing production, and ensuring the team consistently delivers high-quality, quick-service stadium food at scale.

The role blends non-event days focused on high-volume prep and organization with event days that demand fast-paced, high-level execution. You’ll oversee food production for multiple concession outlets, including popular regional and national brands. During major events, you’ll be on the line leading the team and ensuring smooth operations - from hot dogs and sausages to signature stadium favorites served to thousands of fans. You’ll play a key leadership role in planning, directing, and executing production to maximize guest satisfaction, while working side-by-side with the team to keep service fast, consistent, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily food production for multiple concession outlets, ensuring speed, consistency, and adherence to brand specifications.
  • Lead by example on the line - cooking, prepping, and coordinating service during events.
  • Maintain product quality, taste, and temperature across all service areas.
  • Keep workstations, coolers, and dry storage areas organized, clean, and compliant with health and safety standards.
  • Follow and enforce food safety, sanitation, and OSHA guidelines to maintain a safe, efficient kitchen environment.
  • Support training of kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, food handling, and equipment use.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Assist with meeting food cost and labor budget goals through proper production and waste control.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of high-volume cooking experience in concessions, stadiums, arenas, convention centers, theme parks, or similar quick-service environments strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with standardized recipes and portion control.
  • Ability to lead a small team in a fast-paced environment.
  • ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays; must be able to work long shifts during major events.
  • Culinary degree or formal training preferred but not required - equivalent experience accepted.
