Job Responsibilities:
The Catering Manager will plan and execute all catering events at Lenovo Center including events related to Carolina Hurricanes hockey games, NCSU basketball games, and special events in a professional manner with the highest standard. The Catering Manager will lead their team in providing hospitality to our catering clients. They will also cross-train to learn the Restaurant/Ledge Bar to assist on days without catering events.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead by example in providing the highest quality customer service to our catering clients and their guests.
- Establish a rapport with clients during the planning process.
- Foster a customer focused environment with the part-time staff.
- Meet all event day needs for clients as they arise.
- Oversee execution of all catering events.
- Work with Culinary staff to ensure food quality, presentation and appeal.
- Oversees part-time staff of about 20.
- Inspire the part-time staff to provide true hospitality to our clients and their guests.
- Hire, train and maintain part time catering staff.
- Generate employee schedules and manage employee payroll for all functions using the payroll software.
- Effectively manage labor to ensure cost efficiency.
- Order all supplies for food and beverage service at scheduled events.
- Oversee the upkeep of catering and storage areas.
- Keep accurate inventory of all catering products.
- Generate all necessary administrative documentation including client receipts and daily sales reports.
- Stay up to date on new trends, methods, and items that can further improve serving clients.
- Assist restaurant staff with restaurant setup after catering events and as needed.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate should have 3 years experience in a Catering environment with supervisory role preferred, front-of-house management experience in a full-service/full-bar restaurant is a plus.
- Should have working knowledge of all aspects of catering operations.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with clients and employees.
- Must possess strong computer skills.
- Should have physical ability to withstand long hours, walk and stand for long periods of time and climb stairs as needed.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
