Event Management: Event Operations/Management
This is a part-time position within the Anaheim Ducks Entertainment Department.  The Lead Ice Crew is a highly skilled ice skater, a leader and motivator, and has knowledge of the game of hockey.  The primary responsibility of the Lead Ice Crew is to oversee the Power Players and Ice Crew during all Ducks home games, conduct ice practices, and provide management with feedback on progress and ice technique.   

Examples of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Motivate and teach ice skating techniques
  • Adhere to NHL mandated ice routes and best practices
  • Run ice practices that focus on basic skating skills, speed, edge work, crossovers, and turning
  • Assign and monitor routes for each Ducks home game
  • Give constructive and practical feedback to the group and to management 

Specific Qualifications/Abilities: 
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 
  • Must be a high school graduate
  • Must have experience in teaching or coaching ice hockey skating skills
  • Be able to successfully communicate, teach and demonstrate ice skating technique
  • Be able to teach all levels of skating from beginner to advanced
  • Possess strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and possess the ability to interact with all types of people
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible schedule; available to work nights, weekends and holidays as required
  • Familiar with the sport of hockey and NHL rules
