Director of Media Relations & Communications / Corporate Account Manager
Position Summary
The Director of Media Relations & Communications /Corporate Account Manager serves as the primary communications and broadcast leader for the organization while also helping drive corporate partnerships, ticket sales, and community engagement initiatives. This position is responsible for working with the marketing team and social media director for all team media relations, broadcasting, digital content, social media platforms, helping with sponsorship activation, and promotional efforts while helping grow organizational revenue through ticketing, partnerships, and fundraising opportunities.

Media Relations & Communications
Position Summary
The Director of Media Relations & Communications /Corporate Account Manager serves as the primary communications and broadcast leader for the organization while also helping drive corporate partnerships, ticket sales, and community engagement initiatives. This position is responsible for working with the marketing team and social media director for all team media relations, broadcasting, digital content, social media platforms, helping with sponsorship activation, and promotional efforts while helping grow organizational revenue through ticketing, partnerships, and fundraising opportunities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Media Relations & Communications
- Serve as the Broadcast Voice of the team for internet, television, and radio broadcasts.
- Write, produce, print, and distribute all media releases, game notes, feature stories, and team
communications. - Maintain accurate player statistics and coordinate corrections with hockey operations staff.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets and partners.
- Coordinate and distribute game day media credentials.
- Arrange and coordinate player and staff appearances for media events, interviews, and community functions.
- Produce video content, interviews, and feature segments for the team’s YouTube channel and additional digital platforms.
- Graphic Design for the team and marketing efforts.
- Host and produce weekly team and hockey-related broadcast shows.
- Write and produce commercials, promotional spots, and print advertisements.
- Manage and operate all team social media platforms including Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, and additional digital channels.
- Maintain and update the organization’s official website with news, statistics, schedules, and
promotional content. - Assist in producing and supplying editorial and promotional content for media guides, yearbooks, game programs, and other publications.
- Direct and oversee all broadcast and media operations for all team events.
- Work closely with arena and venue public relations representatives to coordinate communications and
promotions.
Sales & Corporate Partnerships
- Generate revenue through ticket sales, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, advertising, and fundraising initiatives.
- Meet or exceed daily sales calls and contact goals established by team management.
- Develop creative social and traditional media revenue opportunities for sponsors and partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, community leaders, and business partners.
- Assist with sponsorship fulfillment and activation during games and events.
Community Relations & Event Promotion
- Attend community, networking, and social events to promote the organization and strengthen community engagement.
- Coordinate promotional appearances and special events involving players, coaches, and staff.
- Support team marketing campaigns and fan engagement initiatives.
Staff Supervision & Internship Program
- Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising media and game-day interns, including:
- Media Assistant
- Game Night Camera Operators
- Team Photographer
- Oversee intern scheduling, assignments, and performance expectations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Contribute to overall organizational success by performing additional duties as assigned by team management.
- Maintain professionalism and always represent the organization positively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Broadcasting, Journalism, Sports Management, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Bilingual Speaking/Upstanding (Spanish & English) a bonus
- Experience in sports broadcasting, media relations, sales, or communications preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of hockey operations and statistics preferred.
- Experience with social media management and digital content creation.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency with broadcasting equipment, video editing software, and Microsoft Office programs
preferred.
Compensation
- Compensation structure based on experience and qualifications.
- Commission opportunities available through ticket sales, sponsorships, and partnership revenue
generation.
