Internship Overview:
Interns will be introduced to the media and game day operations aspects of a professional sports team.

Candidates should be passionate about sports and their internship's area of focus. Additionally, participants should have decently flexible schedules to be at the arena for assigned office hours, special events, and game days in order to learn and get the most out of the opportunity.

The intern will learn various skills through hands-on, behind-the-scenes experience. Interns will become knowledgeable in the necessary preparation and inner workings of a professional hockey team as well as other areas in media such as social media, broadcasting, photography, videography, graphic design, etc.

Potential Responsibilities:

Serve as:
- Social Media Contributor
- On-Air Talent
- Photographer/Videographer/Video Editor
- Graphic Designer
- Camera Operator
- Statistician
Conduct interviews with players and coaches for the broadcasts and other media outlets
Contribute to the content of the game day notes and materials
Work home and away games/events as necessary
Assist in broadcast production
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Candidates should:

be an undergraduate or graduate student interested in their internship category)
have creative, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
understand the rules of ice hockey (strongly recommended)
have experience working in sports (preferred, but not necessary)
be available to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
perform other duties as assigned

Time:

One semester in length
Hours per week: Depends on availability and requirements for school credits
Game days: (only home games)
- Fridays: 6:30 PM – End of game (~ 10 PM)
- Saturdays: 6 PM – End of game (~ 9:30 PM)
- Sundays: 2 PM – End of game (~ 5:30 PM)

Compensation:

This is a unpaid internship BUT college credits are available.
