The Columbus River Dragons are seeking a hard-working, detail-oriented Equipment Manager to join our hockey operations staff for the upcoming season. This is a hands-on role critical to the day-to-day success of our team—ideal for someone passionate about the game, organized under pressure, and ready to be an integral part of the locker room environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Team & Game Operations
- Manage all team equipment, including skates, sticks, pads, uniforms, and gear
- Prepare locker room for practices and games (home and away)
- Sharpen skates, repair gear, and assist with custom player equipment needs
- Pack/unpack team gear for travel and coordinate transportation of equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of locker room, laundry room, and storage areas
Game Day Duties
- Set up and break down benches, locker room, and gear before/after games
- Work closely with coaching staff and medical staff to ensure player needs are met
- Perform laundry duties during and after games and practices
- Assist officials and visiting teams with any required support or equipment
Inventory & Management
- Track and manage inventory of team-issued equipment and apparel
- Order replacement items as needed within team budget
- Maintain accurate records of player equipment and sizes
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Equipment Manager at the junior, college, or professional level (preferred but not required)
- Strong skate sharpening and equipment repair skills
- Ability to lift heavy items and be on your feet for long periods
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Must be available for all team practices, games (home and away), and events
- Valid driver’s license and clean record
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the hockey schedule
