Game Day Manager

Location: Winston-Salem, NC

Position Type: Full Time

Reports To: CEO

Overview:

The Carolina Thunderbirds, a proud member of the Federal Prospects Hockey League, are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Game Day Manager to lead and execute all aspects of game day operations. This individual will be responsible for ensuring a seamless and exciting fan experience from pre-game setup through post-game breakdown.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all pre-game, in-game, and post-game operations to ensure smooth execution.

Develop and manage detailed game day run-of-show schedules, timelines, and staff assignments.

Coordinate communication and logistics with game officials, team staff, league representatives, and venue personnel.

Recruit, train, schedule, and manage a team of game day interns and volunteers.

Organize and supervise in-game promotions, contests, intermission entertainment, and on-ice activities.

Collaborate with mascot performers, PA announcers, DJs, and in-game hosts to deliver a dynamic entertainment experience.

Maintain a high level of customer service and fan engagement, responding to issues promptly and professionally.

Work with the sales and sponsorship teams to fulfill sponsor-related activations including in-game signage, promotional giveaways, and sponsored contests.

Ensure brand consistency and quality representation of team and sponsor assets across all game day touchpoints.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in sports management, event coordination, or game day operations preferred.

Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during the season.

Familiarity with hockey and/or live event production a plus.

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks related to event setup and breakdown.
