The Florida Panthers enter the 2025-26 season as the two-time defending Stanley Cup Champions, having gone to the Stanley Cup Final in each of the past three seasons. The National Hockey League’s southernmost team, the Panthers have reached the postseason in a club-record six consecutive campaigns. The Panthers operate four facilities in Broward County, Florida: Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, the Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs, the new state-of-the-art practice facility Baptist Health IcePlex in Fort Lauderdale, as well as the renovated War Memorial Auditorium, which hosts concerts and events for the South Florida faithful.

 An organization with deep roots in the community, the Panthers are owned by Vincent J. Viola, a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Emphasizing a culture of selfless service both on and off the ice, the Panthers pillar program ‘Heroes Among Us’ honors a United States military veteran at every game and the Florida Panthers Foundation has four main focuses including veterans affairs, children's health and education, raising awareness for the endangered Florida panther and growing youth hockey.

Job Summary:
The Sr Director of Live Entertainment will ensure all events run smoothly at the War Memorial Auditorium. In addition, this position will conduct financial settlements for concerts and private events at the War Memorial Auditorium and Amerant Bank Arena as needed in coordination with the Settlement Manager plus assist SVP of Live Entertainment in booking at both venues.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of War Memorial Auditorium
  • Provide event coverage for concerts and private events
  • Provide on site direction to all departments to ensure events play off flawlessly at War Memorial.
  • Communicate feedback to all departments pre, during and post event for overall operational, sales and marketing effectiveness for War Memorial Auditorium events.
  • Work with complex GM to prioritize items for the War Memorial Auditorium
  • Maintains excellent working relationship with all venue departments to ensure smooth operations of events at War Memorial
  • Liaison with Event Manager’s in the preparation of event estimates and ensure updates are provided to the client and event file reflects changes in the estimate
  • Assist with booking related needs for private and publicly ticketed events at WMA and ABA.
  • Liaison with local stakeholders including Parker playhouse, Parks & Recreation, etc to ensure smooth event operations
  • Ensure venue readiness for events of all types.
  • Follow up on maintenance and operations needs with appropriate departments.
  • Provide effective communications across all departments for events.
  • Work with all departments to maximize revenue and minimize expenses at War Memorial Auditorium.
  • Prepare and execute night of show settlements for our concerts and private events as scheduled for ABA and WMA with the Settlement Manager
  • Preparation of post-show flash reports to determine event profitability as needed to support the Settlement Manager.
  • Communicate and coordinate with various departments on event related expenses and revenues.
  • Communicate venue availability to promoters and agents for WMA and ABA for booking of both venues.
  • Utilize network of industry contact to assist with booking of events at WMA and ABA.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for Live Entertainment department.
  • Assist SVP of Live Entertainment as requested.
  • Additional projects, tasks and events as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:              

Oversee events at the War Memorial Auditorium to ensure smooth operations, production and maximize revenues as well as assist SVP of Live Entertainment at Amerant Bank Arena as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A four-year bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in venue management, booking, marketing, sales, finance, operations…etc
  • Harding working, ability to multitask and work long hours including weekends.
  • Passion to work in the live entertainment industry.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is an exempt (salary) position. Must be able to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed for events. Ability to travel between venues for events.
