Off the ice, the business is experiencing growth across all key metrics and our revenue is at an all-time high.  The organization is expanding outside of Amerant Bank Arena via the renovation of the FTL War Memorial/Baptist Health IcePlex in downtown Fort Lauderdale.  This state-of-the-art ice facility will feature two regulation-size rinks, including a team practice rink with stadium seating, the Panthers’ new practice facilities spanning over 33,000 sq.ft. of offices and off-ice training facilities, and a 4,000-capacity music theatre for live entertainment.  The future is bright, and we are very proud of what we are building in South Florida.

Job Summary:

Maintenance Manager oversees a business’ maintenance tasks, including the upkeep of offices, buildings, hockey ops team facilities, ice rinks, and company vehicles. Their duties include scheduling maintenance tasks, supervising Maintenance Workers and responding to maintenance emergencies.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting site inspections and identifying areas requiring extra maintenance work
  • Performing minor on-site repairs
  • Scheduling contractors for major repairs as required
  • Staying on-call and responding to emergency maintenance needs
  • Developing maintenance budgets, hiring maintenance crew and negotiating vendor contracts
  • Controlling and monitoring inventory
  • Coordinating work performed by outside vendors
  • Additional projects, tasks, and events assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:                          

  • Creating maintenance schedules and delegating tasks to team members
  • Supervising maintenance workers and ensuring they follow safe work practices
  • Discussing maintenance concerns with the employer and communicating these to Maintenance Workers


Qualifications:

  • Required skills: Drywall repairs, Carpentry, Plumbing, Basic electrical, Painting, Fabrication, Assisting with ice installation and maintenance.
  • Technical understanding of electrical, mechanic and hydraulic systems for planning and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency operating modern maintenance technology, including ERP and CRM systems
  • Good verbal communication skills, including active listening and the ability to translate complex information
  • Organizational skills for scheduling maintenance tasks and ensuring job completion, even during emergencies
  • Attention to detail, ensuring maintenance tasks are not overlooked and minor site problems do not become major site problems
  • Good physical fitness for carrying heavy loads and performing other physically demanding tasks


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is an exempt (salary) position.  Must be able to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
