Off the ice, the business is experiencing growth across all key metrics and our revenue is at an all-time high.  The organization is expanding outside of Amerant Bank Arena via the renovation of the FTL War Memorial/Baptist Health IcePlex in downtown Fort Lauderdale.  This state-of-the-art ice facility will feature two regulation-size rinks, including a team practice rink with stadium seating, the Panthers’ new practice facilities spanning over 33,000 sq.ft. of offices and off-ice training facilities, and a 4,000-capacity music theatre for live entertainment.  The future is bright, and we are very proud of what we are building in South Florida.

Job Summary:

The F&B Manager works closely with the Asst Director and VP of Hospitality to ensure the effective management and running of venue concession operations including event planning support, scheduling, food preparation and production, inventory, compliance with alcohol service policies, cleaning, safety, guest service, employee/volunteer training and supervision, troubleshooting, closing duties, and any other tasks assigned. 


Job Functions:

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

    • Ensure proper set-up of all locations prior to opening. Set-up duties may include (but are not limited to): verifying initial inventory, assigning duties to line workers, ensuring sanitation standards are met, confirming that each location is fully operational, ascertaining levels of food production based upon projected guest attendance.
    • Provide a high level of oversight and operational expertise resulting in the smooth, efficient and profitable execution of events.
    • Manage and run operations. Duties include staff scheduling, employee check-in, equipment inspection, POS monitoring and troubleshooting, guest complaint resolution, training, food production, clean-up, post-event reconciliation and reporting, and any other tasks as assigned.
    • Willing to cover any open position to assure location is fully operational, and company standards
    • Ensure work environment is safe and free from harassment or discrimination; immediately address all safety concerns, potential hazards, accidents or incidents. Relays safety/health issues to management immediately.


Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to make sound business/operations decisions (e., regarding employee placement, staffing adjustments, and/or respond to technical, product or equipment challenges during an event) quickly and under pressure.
  • Solid working knowledge of computer applications: Microsoft Office, POS systems, timekeeping system.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of all existing concessions locations: geographical location, equipment, evacuation procedures, adjacent employee and guest areas, and facility access.
  • Possess a valid Food Handlers certificate and Alcohol Service Permit


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is an exempt position. Must be able to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
