Organization Overview:
The Florida Panthers are a community focused organization led by an authentic management team that served our country and now serves the South Florida community. The organization is on the rise and is experiencing success both on and off the ice. Led by General Manager Bill Zito, the Panthers had their best season in franchise history. Off the ice, the business team is seeing growth across all key metrics including ratings, social engagement and a busy Fall 2022 concert schedule. Meanwhile the organization is expanding outside of FLA Live Arena and are renovating the FTL War Memorial in Downtown Fort Lauderdale to build a new practice facility and concert venue.

Job Summary:
The Florida Panthers are seeking a Strategy Analyst who will be involved in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, financial analysis, and variance report preparation.  This position will assist in the development of financial models, perform strategic financial analysis, and communicate findings. This position will also be responsible for providing analytical support for ongoing business activities including risk assessments, ROI analysis, and building out P&L’s.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Strong working knowledge of PC-based software applications, including Microsoft Office – with extensive experience building financial models and a “power user” within Excel.
• Build various long-range strategic planning and project feasibility models. Construct financial models that facilitate sensitivity analysis with key assumptions, scenario planning, and that incorporate appropriate analytical techniques to validate results and measure risk.

• Understand financial statements and their interrelationships, financial system data, metadata, and hierarchies. Utilize independent thinking skills and best practices to analyze financial statements to aid in developing projections.
• Experience working with financial reporting systems such as NetSuite
• Assist in full P&L experience for specific business units
• Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting with understanding of key financial and operational drivers
• Works closely with Finance and Accounting to ensure monthly financials reflect consistency with operational activities / forecast
• Collaborate with other functional areas in development of planning processes and financial models that produce timely, accurate and relevant financial information for making informed business decisions.
• Participate and lead process improvements that deliver more efficient and effective financial models and business process.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field
• 1-2 years' experience in corporate financial planning and analysis, public accounting, investment banking or consulting
• Advanced Excel proficiency is required; experience building complex Excel models and utilizing advanced formulas, pivot tables, and queries
• Experience with Netsuite is preferred
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task within a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is an exempt position. Must be able to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
