About the Role:

The Manager, Security Infrastructure and Credentialing is responsible for the administration, operation, and strategic development of all security technology systems and credentialing programs across ICE District and related OEG facilities. This role ensures that security infrastructure supports safe, efficient, and compliant event and day-to-day operations while meeting the evolving needs of internal and external stakeholders.

 

Your Focus in this Role:

Security Infrastructure

  • Administers and manages all security infrastructure for ICE District, including access control, CCTV/video management systems, two-way radio communications, patron screening technology, and intrusion detection systems
  • Programs event-specific requirements related to security infrastructure to effectively support event activity, including incident management software, screening technology, access control configurations, and vertical transportation
  • Leads system integration efforts to ensure interoperability between access control, CCTV, screening, and radio platforms, including integration with any Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) or unified security operations platforms
  • Develops and maintains lifecycle management plans for all security technology assets, including capital project scoping, technology refresh planning, and end-of-life replacement schedules
  • Ensures system redundancy and business continuity planning for critical security infrastructure, including failover procedures and disaster recovery protocols for systems required during live events
  • Consults with internal users and stakeholders to identify evolving business requirements related to security technology, and evaluates and recommends hardware and software solutions to meet those needs
  • Produces operational reporting, dashboards, and KPI analysis from security system data to support decision-making and continuous improvement

Credentialing

  • Acts as the main point of contact for all credential requests and related matters across OEG
  • Manages all OEG/Rogers Place event passes, including design, request intake, production, and distribution
  • Develops and oversees temporary credentialing programs for all Edmonton-based OEG events, including WHL, NHL, live entertainment, and other OEG-sponsored events within the Edmonton area
  • Administers NHL-mandated credentialing processes as required
  • Collaborates with OEG Marketing to create and maintain the credentialing webpage on the internal OEG website

Digital Records and Data Governance

  • Manages the digital records generated by CCTV, access control, credentialing, and radio systems, including policies and procedures governing access, retention, chain of custody, and release of information
  • Works with internal stakeholders including Legal and IT to develop best practices, procedures, and policies for the management of security-related digital records
  • Ensures compliance with applicable privacy legislation, including Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), in all aspects of security data collection, storage, and disclosure
  • Responsible for overall security system documentation, reporting, and disclosure tasks

Access Control and User Management

  • Creates and manages user accounts, user groups, and permission settings in the access control and CCTV systems at Rogers Place and related facilities
  • Reviews security logs, daily reports, and checklists to identify anomalies, trends, and areas for operational improvement

Vendor and Contract Management

  • Manages third-party vendors and contracts related to security infrastructure, including scope definition, performance monitoring, and contract compliance

Budget and Financial Management

  • Supports the development and management of operating and capital budgets related to security infrastructure and credentialing
  • Monitors expenditures against budget, identifies variances, and provides forecasting and financial reporting to the Director, Fan Experience and Security

Compliance and Emergency Preparedness

  • Ensures all security policies, procedures, and systems are aligned and in compliance with all applicable laws, bylaws, regulations, and directives, including the venue Life Safety Plan, Occupational Health and Safety Act, NHL Arena Security Standards, Security Services and Investigators Act (SSIA) of Alberta, related municipal bylaws, and other applicable provincial and federal legislation
  • Serves as an Incident Commander for events as required
  • Supports the development and maintenance of emergency preparedness plans, including coordination of security infrastructure components within broader venue emergency response frameworks

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Serves as a key liaison between the Security department and internal stakeholders including IT, Legal, Operations, Marketing, and executive leadership on matters related to security infrastructure and credentialing
  • Coordinates with external partners including the NHL, promoters, broadcast partners, and visiting team personnel on credentialing and security access requirements

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in security technology, security infrastructure management, or a closely related field, preferably in a large-venue, entertainment, or sports environment
  • Demonstrated experience with access control platforms, CCTV/VMS systems, two-way radio infrastructure, and patron screening technology
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and contracts related to security technology or infrastructure
  • Proven ability to manage capital and operating budgets
  • Post-secondary education in security management, information technology, business administration, or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Professional security certification such as Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), or equivalent is preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent project management training is preferred
  • Experience with Genetec, CCure, or comparable enterprise security platforms is preferred
  • Familiarity with NHL arena security standards and league credentialing requirements is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the Security Services and Investigators Act (SSIA), and related regulatory frameworks is preferred
