OEG Sports & Entertainment is hiring an Assistant Manager, Event Security, to lead the execution and development of event security and fan experience operations at Rogers Place and throughout the Ice District. The successful candidate will have a strong background in security operations, and demonstrate confidence leading and coaching part-time team members, while applying their security-centric mindset towards an elevated fan experience.
Your Focus in this Role:
- Manage the day-to-day Fan Experience and Security operations for all OEG’S brands to deliver the best possible experience while working within budgets.
- Lead, with an agile and efficient mind-set, any prep before and in the moment action, to drive a flawless event.
- Represent Rogers Place and the Ice District as the lead on duty or the supporting lead for all type of events.
- Work directly with the Manager, Fan Experience & Security and Coordinator, Scheduling and Staff Services to coordinate accurate staff deployments for all events.
- Assist in the hiring, onboarding, and training of all new Fan Experience and Security personnel.
- Assist in the development and documentation of all internal standard operating procedures for Fan Experience & Security.
- Work directly with and support the Coordinator, Scheduling and Staff Services with fine tuning of scheduling, monitoring availabilities, and any vacancies leading up to all event nights.
- Assist in the development and ongoing improvements to all reporting processes, ensuring accurate feedback collection, service reporting, and fan safety.

Education, Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of other education and experience.
- Valid Alberta Security License.
- 3+ years’ progressive experience in venue security; preferably with large public venues.
- Supervisory and management experience, focused on performance development, leadership, and retention.
- Able to work an event-based work schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Exemplary organizational skills, resourceful and proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Highly visible leader with a proven track record to successfully lead a multi-service team.
- Knowledge of security screening technologies, including magnetometers and frictionless screening systems, is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with provincial and federal laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to security is considered an asset.
- Experience with the Incident Command System (ICS) is considered an asset.
- Experience with ABI MasterMind is considered an asset.
- Experience with CCURE, Victor, Genetec and Omnigo operating systems is considered an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM is considered an asset.
