About the Role:

Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Assistant Manager, Accounting, will provide financial reporting and accounting for Live Entertainment operations and support accounting for Food & Beverage and Retail operations. The Assistant Manager, Accounting will work closely with the Live Entertainment, Events, Food & Beverage and Retail teams to integrate all financial data within OEG’s accounting systems and reporting tools. Accounting for Live Entertainment concert event settlements will include “night of show” settlements and reporting.

 

Your Focus in this Role:

  • Responsible for Live Entertainment event accounting for Rogers Place and Ice District including reporting and integration into OEG’s financial statements
  • Supporting Food & Beverage and Retail accounting for Rogers Place and Ice District including reporting and integration into OEG’s financial statements
  • Ensures all general ledger postings for event accounting settlements are completed, working papers are updated, and ticketing payment reconciliations are complete
  • Responsible for corporate event accounting (catered functions, corporate meetings, galas) including pre-event analysis, accurate and timely billing, and post event reporting as required
  • Works with our ticketing partner to ensure timely and accurate reporting and payments in order to maintain working papers and cash reconciliations
  • Cross training for “night of show” settlements, liaising with promoters, artist representatives and internal operations team
  • Supports marquee event accounting – i.e. World Juniors, Hlinka Gretzky Cup, etc.
  • Supports Festival accounting and works with the VP, Festivals & Events to integrate new Festival opportunities
  • Supports the annual Business Planning and Budget Process as required
  • Supports full cycle accounting including books, records, monthly financial reporting, and analysis
  • Assists with annual financial statement audit, including preparation and review of audit working papers, and coordination with external auditors
  • Other duties, supervisory responsibilities and project-oriented tasks as assigned

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Post-Secondary Accounting Diploma or Degree required
  • Minimum 3 years in an accounting background or related field
  • Excellent reporting, communicating and analytical skills
  • Detail focused, strong business acumen and well versed in financial modeling and analysis
  • Strong understanding of Accounting Systems and integration opportunities
  • Experience with computerized accounting software and a proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
