About the Role:

The Manager, Restaurant Marketing role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to work with both the restaurants operations team overseeing Braven, Kindred and Alchemy at JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District, as well as the OEGSE marketing team to develop and lead effective campaigns and projects to drive awareness and guest traffic to those locations. The Manager, Restaurant Marketing will have a great opportunity to leverage new and traditional marketing skills, develop relationships and work within a fast-paced industry that will provide many opportunities for growth and development.

 

Your Focus in this Role:

  • You will work with the restaurant operations team to provide market-centric solutions to current specific business challenges.
  • You will develop strategic marketing plans that utilize traditional advertising, social media management, partnership development, event planning, asset production, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, insights analysis and other means as necessary.
  • You will be diligent in your knowledge of restaurant, lounge and bar activity in Edmonton and will be able to assess and interpret trends in the industry before they reach our market.
  • You will develop plans that will be integrated within the operating budgets of the venues you support, and your primary objectives will be to maximize revenue in each of them while attracting new guests, ensuring past guests return, and that all guests enjoy an experience that will have them sharing their positive experiences.
  • In your role leading the social media and digital channels of these brands, you will play an integral role in the overall experience that each of our guests has.
  • You will be a member of the brand marketing group at OEGSE and will collaborate with your colleagues on hospitality-related projects as well as other marketing initiatives as they relate to Rogers Place, ICE District and our sports team brands.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma from a recognized institution in a related field
  • 3 – 5 years’ marketing experience, direct experience within the hospitality sector
  • Solid knowledge of digital marketing (social media, display, SEM, etc.) and experience developing and directing digital-heavy campaigns
  • Experience in building out strategic marketing / brand plans and executing them
  • Experience managing the development and execution of marketing assets utilizing in-house creative and content resources
  • Strong hospitality industry knowledge, including trend recognition from major North American markets
  • Proven ability to make critical decisions independently without supervision
  • Experience prioritizing the use of limited resources and communicating decisions effectively to stakeholders
  • Track record of building strong working relationships through effective communication, managing expectations, and conflict management
  • Experience developing reports and presenting on a regular basis to senior executives
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Proactive and resourceful with an ability to “make things happen”
  • Good balance of creative/communications instincts and logical, analytical skills
