The Knight Monsters are seeking a creative, motivated, and passionate Broadcasting and Public Relations Intern for the 2026–27 season. This hands-on opportunity provides valuable experience within a premier ECHL hockey organization and is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to build a portfolio in sports broadcasting, media relations, public relations, communications, digital media, and content creation. All applications will be kept on file until the start of the internship program for which candidates apply.
Timeline: September 2026 – April 2027 (or through the completion of the playoffs)
Position Overview
The Broadcasting and Public Relations Intern will work closely with the Communications, Broadcasting, and Marketing teams to support the organization's media relations, game broadcasts, and public communications efforts. This role will assist with game-day broadcasting operations, preparing media materials, coordinating interviews, writing press releases and game recaps, managing media requests, and creating engaging digital content for fans and media partners.
From game nights and community events to press conferences and digital campaigns, this internship offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in professional sports communications, broadcasting, and public relations while helping share the story of the Tahoe Knight Monsters throughout the season.

- Serve as the on-air color commentator for all Knight Monster home games
- Co-host live pre and postgame shows
- Assist at morning skates with conducting pregame content
- Manage game notes and line chart distribution
- Work with home and away coaching staff, coordinating media notes, video setup, and team needs
- Assist with postgame press releases and highlight content
On Office Days Your Responsibilities May Include:
- Attend community events
- Assist player appearances
- Help film/edit Youtube content
- Integrate behind the scenes player content and storytelling
- Plan content, on-air segments, and live shows
Internship Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of hockey
- Writing and communication skills
- Proficiency with Adobe Suites and PremierePro
- On-air experience preferred
Compensation:
This is a non-paid internship. School credit may be earned if applicable.
