The Norfolk Admirals are currently seeking motivated and inquisitive college students for our Game Day Operations Internship roles for the 2024-25 Season. Interns will report directly to the Sales & Operations Coordinator, and will be expected to work an average of 15-20 hours per week, with weekends and holidays as determined by the game schedule. In the fast-paced and fluid environment of sports entertainment, successful interns take pride in their personal skills and their customer service. Motivated to represent the Admirals brand, Game Day Operations have the following job duties:
  • Assist in game-day setup, including executing theme nights and promotions
  • Organize and take inventory of merchandise at the Merchandise Stand
  • Facilitate giveaways/special offers
  • Execute on-ice activations, including but not limited to: pregame ceremonies, intermission games, T-Shirt Tosses, Chuck-a-Puck, and occasional fan participation events
  • Breakdown game equipment and activations after games
  • Complete office hours, working closely with each department in the front office to prepare for games and maximize fan engagement
  • Join the staff for additional Admirals events as needed
  • Other duties as requested by staff members
**This is an unpaid internship, and all applicants MUST be eligible to receive academic credit**

Qualifications:
  • Must be actively enrolled at an accredited college or university and be eligible to receive academic credit for the internship. 
  • Must be available for 15-20 hours per week, including hours on game nights (weekends and some holidays may be included)
  • Must attend and work every Norfolk Admirals home game for the 2024-25 Season
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills with comfortability talking to fans, customers, and Admirals staff members. 
  • Willingness to learn and gain exposure to multiple departments in the Admirals front office
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from the Scope Arena for game nights and office hours
 
Responsibilities:
  • Interns are expected to attend all Norfolk Admirals games as well as occasional team-related events
  • Interns will participate in office hours during the week (in conjunction with their class schedule) and will perform tasks for the Operations, Merchandising, Entertainment, Sales, and Marketing departments
  • During games, interns are expected to present themselves professionally and provide motivated customer service, as well as assist in game-time activations, both on and off the ice
  • Assist in execution of theme nights and promotional projects
